India win all medals in 500 mt speed skating

Dehra Dun, Jan 11 (PTI) India swept all the medals in 500meter ice speed skating men''s events on the second day of thefirst South Asian Federation (SAF) winter games, here today.

While Subodh Patil won gold, Harshal Gosale and LavishVaidya bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively in themen''s 500 meter speed skating event held at indoor stadium ofMaharana Pratap sports complex here.

Skaters from Bangladesh and Maldives participated in theevent but could not pose much threat to the Indians.

In women''s event, however, the results could not bedeclared as the players lodged their protests over scoring andlater the organisers decided to hold the competition onceagain tomorrow.

The first SAF winter games, which began yesterday, arebeing held in Dehra Dun and Auli.
