Infosys, zensar register wins

Pune, Mar 19: Bhushan Deopujari smashed an unbeaten 108 runs to take Infosys to an emphatic 55 run win over Hewlitt Packard on the inaugural day of the S1 Twenty20 Cricket IT Cup sponsored by S1 Corporation and co-sponsored by Vascon at the Nehru Stadium here today.

In the other match of the day Zensar trouneed hosts S1 by 7 wickets in their first league encounter.

Deopujari, who has been performing consistently in the information technology corporate matches, was in full flow smashing 16 fours on way to 108 and he was ably assisted by Sujay Gupte who scored an unbeaten 24. The Infosys team scored 188 runs in just 20 overs for the loss of four wickets.

Hewlett Packard, however, did not give up, putting up a valiant effort scoring 133 for 4 in their 20 overs but fell short of the target by 55 runs. Deepan Bapna scored 46 not out and Avinash Agarkar 32 for them, while Vaibhav Chaturvedi took 2-27 and Navin Vijay Parappu took 3-1 to seal a win for Infosys.

In the other match, Zensar technologies scored a seven-wicket win after S1 elected to bat first, thanks to a unbeaten 51 by Shanatanu Naik, the hosts managed to score 99, but were bundled out in the 18th over itself with some good bowling by man of the match Mahesh Mundhare who took 3 for 14.
