Injured Ferrer pulls out of Stockholm Open

STOCKHOLM, Oct 9 (Reuters) Spaniard David Ferrer has pulled out of the Stockholm Open with a hamstring injury, organisers said today.

Ferrer, who won the Japan Open on Sunday and is a contender for one of the eight spots in the season-ending Masters Cup, would have been the second seed at this week's tournament behind American James Blake.

Dane Kenneth Carlsen replaced Ferrer in the draw as a lucky loser.

Ferrer, a semi-finalist at the US Open, was the third seed to pull out of Stockholm, after compatriot Tommy Robredo and Czech Tomas Berdych.
