Tamil Nadu wins 4x100m gold with a timing of 40.15 seconds

Kerala wins 100m relays with a timing of 46.35 seconds.

Sarvesh Kushare (gold) and Jesse Sandesh (silver) qualified for the Asian Games as they matched the qualification standard 2.24m in the men's high jump final

National record holder Praveen Chithravel continued his good form in the season with a big jump of 17.07m and took the gold medal. Commonwealth Games medallists Abdullah Aboobacker and Eldhose Paul took the remaining spot at the podium. The trio also breached the Asian Games qualification mark.

Swapna Barman and Agsara Nandini qualify for Asian Games; Agsara Nandini also took bronze in the 100m hurdles while competing with Jyothi Yarraji but didn't breach qualifying mark in the event.

Knowing that I need to run 4:50:86 seconds, everyone decided to run a fast race for me so that I could qualify for the Asian Games. I didn't even know them before the Inter-States but over these two days we have all built an unbreakable bond. Tejaswin Shankar has qualified for the Asian Games as the decathlete ran 4:38.39 seconds in the 1500m race and took his points tally past the qualification mark of 7500 points. He finished 4th in the 1500m event while notching up 690 points.

India's heptathlon queen Swapna Barman found her form with months to go for the Asian Games! She finished with an aggregate of 5918 points to take the gold medal at the Inter-State Athletics Championships. The Asian Games defending champion also breached the qualification mark for the quadrennial event.
Tejaswin Shankar throws another personal best, this time in javelin at 52.32m, to pick 623 points in decathlon. His points tally now rises to 6886 points and requires another 614 points to qualify for Asian Games. He apparently needs to run faster than 4:50.86 seconds to achieve the mark!

100m hurdles final result

Tejas Shirse continued his domestic dominance with a 13.87 seconds timing. Tejas, who earlier won the Federation Cup last month, failed to make the Asian Games cut.

100m hurdles queen Jyothi Yarraji clocked 12.92 seconds to win the Inter-State Athletics Championships gold medal. The athlete already qualified for Asian Games during the heats this morning.

Men's triple jump final at the Inter-State Championships came to an abrupt halt after Karnataka's Akhilesh had a terrible fall. The athlete probably broke his shin bone. AFI officials are calling for an ambulance as medical officials are attending him. Will keep our readers posted on his condition.

Tanveer Singh Bains won the men's hammer throw final with a throw of 68.07m. The Punjab athlete, however, couldn't breach the qualifying mark of 71.10m.

Tejaswin Shankar will be back in action for the evening session with the decathlon javelin throw to start next. He needs 1237 more points to qualify for Asian Games and has 1500m to compete after this later in the evening.

The men's triple jump final is among the main attractions today and will go ahead without Arpinder Singh, who confirmed to MyKhel that he won't compete due to a back injury. Meanwhile, Eldose Paul, Abdullah Aboobacker and Karthik Unnikrishnan are already warming up for the final.

With the personal best show in pole vault in challenging conditions, Tejaswin Shankar has picked 617 points from the event, taking his tally 6263. He needs a further 1237 points from the remaining two events (javelin throw and 1500m) to qualify for the Asian Games as the cut-off is set at 7500 points. Tejaswin Shankar is on a roll on the Day 2 of the decathlon as the high jump national record holder posted his new personal best in pole vault with a 4m jump.

Tejas Shirse dominated the 110m hurdles in the morning as he was the sole hurdler to clock sub-14 timing (13.75 seconds). He will take a shot at Asian Games qualification in the final with the standard set at a steep 13.57 seconds. Tejas's personal and season best has been 13.61 seconds, which was set at the Federation Cup in Ranchi last month.

The decathlon discus throw results are out, leader Tejaswin Shankar produced an effort of 35.96m to finish 11th in the discipline. Rahul Yadav won the discipline with an effort of 39.39m. Tejaswin points total is now 5646 and remains in lead with the pole vault in progress at the moment.

Swapna Barman wins the javelin event as well with a 46.86m throw. She picked 799 points with the effort and now stretches her lead to 5106 points. Overnight leader Agasara Nadini, who threw 39.28m, is now on 4886 points at second.

Decathlon's event number eight pole vault is set to start as leader Tejaswin Shankar is on his practice attempts at the moment.

Swapna Barman took the lead back from overnight leader Agasara Nandini as the 2018 Asian Games champion won the long jump event with a 6.04m jump. She collected 864 points to take her points tally to 4312 points with five events completed. Heptathlon's javelin throw event is currently underway!

After winning 100m gold the other day, Jyothi Yarraji booked her Asian Games ticket on Wednesday morning and did so with ease in the 100m hurdles. The 23-year-old athlete clocked the fastest in heats at 13.39 seconds while breaching the qualifying standard of 13.63 seconds. Nithya R also qualified for the Asiad as she clocked the fastest in heat 2 at 13.62 seconds.

Tejaswin Shankar picked 854 points in round six of the decathlon as he clocked the fastest in 110m hurdles at 14.96 seconds. His overnight tally soars to 5063 points.
Earlier on Day 2 of the Inter-State Athletics Championships 2023, 12 gold medals were won with 100m hurdles national record holder Jyothi Yarraji beating Srabani Nanda to the gold medal in the 100m sprint.
Tamil Nadu's Siva Kumar turned out to be the surprise winner in the men's 100m final as he clocked 10.37 seconds. Harjit Singh was second at 10.45 seconds while national record holder Amiya Mallick finished last at 10.58 seconds. None, of the men's and women's sprinters breached the qualifying mark.
The 400m finals, on the other hand, saw plenty of Asian Games qualifications as Muhammad Anas and Muhammad Ajmal post sub-46 timings to take the podium spots behind Sri Lanka's Kalinga Kumarage.
Among women, Anjali Devi Kundu reigned supreme with a strong timing of 51.48 seconds in the final while youngster Himanshi Malik post an impressive 51.76 seconds for the silver. R Vithay Ramaraj impressed as well with a timing of 52.49 seconds.
Their performances have rekindled India's hopes of retaining the women's 400m relay title at the Asian Games for the sixth time as Hima Das & Co. pulled a rabbit out of the hat against Bahrain back in 2018.
The 1500m event saw the return of the national record holder Harmilan Bains, who was beaten to the finish line by Madhya Pradesh's Deeksha KM. Both of them, however, did enough to breach the qualification standard for the Asian Games.
