One of the best high jumpers in India, Sarvesh Anil Kushare, has almost confirmed his spot for the Paris Olympics. At the ongoing Inter State Athletics Championships, Sarvesh Kushare jumped a new meet record and his season best of 2.25m. This more or less consolidates his position in the Road to Paris rankings.
Sarvesh, with a personal best of 2.27, spoke exclusively with myKhel after his competition: "My body was reacting well. I have a slight ankle pain, but later I gained confidence and passed 2.25. I even attempted 2.30 but could not clear it."

The Inter State Athletics Championships was his 7th competition in 2024 and his first in India. On competing in three competitions in last 15 days, the 29-year-old jumper said, "I did well in Malaysia but I also suffered there because of ankle pain, but I still managed 2.23 meters.
"After that, I competed in Kazakhstan, and this is my third competition in the last 15 days. I came here with the goal of directly qualifying for the Paris Olympics, but it did not happen."
Sarvesh, who hails from Devargaon in Maharashtra, has said that in practice sessions he has already crossed 2.30 meters many times but is still striving to achieve it during competitions: "My practice is going very well, and I am attempting 2.30 and 2.33 meters, but I am not able to achieve that in competition. However, I'm trying to do so."
Upon playing in his first Olympics, Sarvesh said, "My family is supporting me, the army is supporting me, and the AFI is also supporting me. I have been away from home for the past year and have been training outside the country during that time."
With continued dedication and support, Sarvesh Anil Kushare is poised to represent India on the world stage in Paris.
