Inzamam left out of 20-member provisional team for Abbottabad camp

Lahore, Jun 6 (UNI) In a bold move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today left out former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq from the list of 20 players selected for the two-week training camp at Abbottabad.

The National Selection Committee of PCB, under the Chairmanship of Salahuddin Ahmed, announced the names of 20 players for the Abbottabad camp starting from June 10, 2007. There are two more similar camps in Quetta and Karachi later.

Inzamam had already announced his retirement from one-day cricket after his team was knocked out of the caribbean World Cup following a shameful defeat against 'minnows' Ireland. However, he has shown his interest to play the longer version of the game.

The 37-year-old was also blamed for the early exit of the Pakistan Cricket team from the World Cup and was slammed by the PCB on the findings of the commission set up to review the performance of the team.

The name of the players included in the 20 member Provisional squad are Shoaib Malik (captain), Salman Butt, Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Yousuf, Yasir Hameed, Misbah-ul-Haq, Naved Latif, Faisal Iqbal, Asim Kamal, Fawad Alam, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Asif, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Umar Gul, Iftikhar Anjum, Najaf Shah.
