Inzamam should think of retirement
Lahore, May 14 (UNI) Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram said Inzamam-ul Haq was past his prime and it was time for the burly Multan batsman to retire from Test cricket as well.
''No doubt Inzamam has been a great player but one should go when the time comes,'' Wasim told reporters on the sidelines of the ongoing national training camp at Gaddafi Stadium yesterday.
Inzamam had called it quits from one-day internationals after Pakistan's debacle in the World Cup but expressed his desire to carry on in the longer version of the game.
Wasim, however, was of opinion that that Inzamam should be allowed to surpass Javed Miandad's Pakistan record of 8832 Test runs, of which he is just 19 runs short.
Wasim also hailed the appointment of Shoaib Malik as Pakistan captain and said was a good choice with if the PCB was targetting the next World Cup.
He said all cricketers had respect for Shoaib Malik.
