Bengaluru, July 28: Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla currently nursing a recurring heel problem has opened up on his battle to overcome the injury that has ruled him out of contention since the club's 6-0 win against Ludogrates in October 2016.
The 32-year-old has been under the knife on eight separate times on his right Achilles tendon since breaking down through injury.

The dimunitive Spaniard had previously stated that he has considered retiring from football but has pledged to make his return to football soon.
"I don't know how long it will take, but I'm convinced that I'll be back soon," Cazorla told Spanish radio station, 'Onda Cero'.
"Each time I leave the operating theatre, I think that everything will be fine and I'll be back again.
"The doctors have told me that a case like mine is one that they probably won't see again for a long time as it is unusual for an athlete.
"I have no strength in my leg. I am just two weeks out of surgery. I have no muscle mass in my calf, no strength in the tendon, we are still working on getting my Achilles to function again."
Cazorla's son Enzo has been asking him if he will ever be back in action again.
"Every day my son asks me if I will play again because he really wants to see me out on the pitch again and I really hope that it will happen soon."
Santi on his return to light traing posted a video on twitter about his double session.
He most recently posted a video on Instagram about his training and plans for his return.
Arsene Wenger has recently registered an interest in the OGC Nice and Ivory Coast midfielder Jean Michael Seri to replace the Spaniard either temporarily or permanently. The Ivorian seems to fit the bill more than the others currently at club, who are a lot different to the missing man.
The Gunners need to find an internal or external solution to fill the void for Cazorla as fans said his absence was the cause to end their chances for the Premier League fight and Champions League run last season.
