Irked Pakistan to boycott CT if it is taken away from them

Lahore, Aug 24 (UNI) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to give it back to the ICC and has warned the governing body of a possible boycott if the Champions Trophy is relocated.

PCB Chief Operating Officer, Shafqat Naghmi said if the ICC today decides to relocate the tournament, Pakistan will boycott the event.

''We are prepared for this and we are expecting a formal announcement at the teleconference,'' he said.

South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia have decided to boycott the tournament as they have got advice from their independent security consultants and from their government not to travel to Pakistan at this stage because of the security conditions in the strife-torn country.

The countries have pointed out to the ICC that since January this year around 21 suicide bomb and planted bomb attacks have taken place in Pakistan leaving over 400 people dead and scores injured.
