India stretched their lead at the top of the medal standings in ISSF Junior World Championships 2024 after Kushi secured a hard-fought bronze in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions event.
Kushi dramatically qualified for the final before rallying to claim the third spot. Her medal on Wednesday (October 2) took India's tally to 15, including 10 gold, one silver, and four bronze medals, keeping the country at the top of the standings.

The youngster shot 447.3 in the final to finish behind Caroline Lund of Norway who won silver with 458.3. Caroline's compatriot Synnoeve Berg won gold with 458.4. In the team competition in women's 3P, the trio of Sakshi Padekar, Melvina Joel Gladson and Prachi Gaekwad, finished fifth with a tally of 1757.
Earlier, Divanshi clinched gold in the women's 25-metre pistol event. She also won gold in the team event alongside Tejaswani and Vibhuti Bhatia. This was the third gold for the women's team in Peru.
Kanishka Dagar, Lakshita Lakshita and Anjali Chaudhary had won the yellow-metal in the women's 10m air pistol team event, while Gautami Bhanot, Shambhavi Shravan Kshirsagar and Anushka Thokur won gold in the women's 10m air rifle team event.
The 25-metre pistol event contributed two more gold medals, as Mukesh Nelavalli won the junior men's individual event as well as the team gold along with Suraj Sharma and Padhyumn Singh.
In men's category, Parth Rakesh Mane was crowned junior world champion in the 10m air rifle, leading a dominant performance by India in the discipline. Parth completed a double gold by combining with Ajay Malik and Abhinav Shaw to win the team competition.
