ISSO, ISF Academy and ITTF Launch Five-Day Table Tennis Level 1 Coach Education Course in Noida

The International Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO), together with the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Academy and the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), has launched a five-day ITTF Level 1 Coach Education Programme at Prometheus School in Noida.

Running from July 6 to July 10, 2026, the international certification course brings global coach-education standards directly to India's school-sports ecosystem.

Twenty-two participants - comprising physical education teachers, school coaches, and aspiring table tennis instructors from across the country - are enrolled in the programme. The curriculum combines classroom theory with practical on-table modules to deliver a comprehensive foundation in coaching fundamentals. Key topics include technical skill development, session planning, athlete progression, and techniques for fostering supportive learning environments for young players.

The course is being delivered by Ms. Christina Chee of Thailand, an accredited ITTF educator who is leading both instructional and hands-on sessions. Ms. Chee highlighted the importance of coach education in building sustainable sporting structures, saying that equipping teachers and coaches with internationally recognised methodologies and practical tools will create improved learning settings and help nurture the next generation of table tennis talent in India.

Gaurav Dixit, Co-Director of ISSO, emphasised the organisation's commitment to creating meaningful sporting opportunities within schools. He noted that the collaboration with ISF Academy and ITTF aligns with ISSO's strategy to introduce world-class coach education in India and reinforce grassroots development. "By empowering educators with internationally accepted coaching practices, we are laying the foundation for the holistic development of young athletes across schools," Mr. Dixit said.

The ITTF Level 1 programme represents another milestone in ISSO's ongoing efforts to enhance school sports through international partnerships. Recently, ISSO has run globally recognised coach-education initiatives with bodies such as FIBA, BWF and Kukkiwon, and has pursued broader strategic collaborations including a partnership with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). In addition to coach development, ISSO has been facilitating international competition exposure for students, most recently sending India's contingent to the ISF Basketball Championship 2026 in Serbia.

Through continued capacity-building programmes and international linkages, ISSO aims to establish globally aligned sporting pathways for students, educators and coaches across India's international-school community.
