ITBP win gold in below 81, 90 kg categories

Vijayawada, Jan 12 (UNI) Gold medallist in SAF games, Virender Singh of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) won the gold in below 81 kg category of senior National Judo Championship at Dr RMC Indoor Stadium here today.

The silver went to 2006 junior National Champion Yaima Singh of Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) in the same category. The bronze medal was bagged by Shasin Patania of Punjab and Vikram Solanki of New Delhi defeating Somhar Singh of AIPSCB and Jasbir Singh of Haryana respectively.

In the below 90 kg category final, defending champion and SAF gold medallist Anil Kumar of ITBP won the gold, K H Sanjoy Singh of CRPF silver and Jagbir Singh Tokas of CISF and Jagbir Singh Rana of Bihar took the bronze defeating Kuljinder Singh of Chandigarh and Anil Kumar of Manipur respectively.

In the below 100 kg category, five time national judo champion Pradeep Tokas of CRPF bagged gold while Narender Singh of CISF won the silver.
