Ivory Coast walks out with a win

Nelspruit, Jun 25: Ivory Coast beat North Korea 3-0 but was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The crucial match between Brazil and Portugal ended in a draw which led the Elephants to walk out of the tournament.

With four points, the Elephants finished one point behind the Portuguese, while Brazil topped the 'Group of Death' with seven and the Koreans go home after three defeats.

The first goal of the match by Yaya Toure in the 14th minute and the second by Ndri Romaric in the 20th minute gave the Ivorians a 2-0 halftime lead. Later in the second half Salomon Kalou finished the score chart in the 82nd minute.

Despite their exit, Ivory Coast coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said he was pleased with his team's performance.

"We scored three goals, with a clean sheet once again. We were in a difficult group. I think we did well, I think the players should be proud of themselves." he said.
