Ahmedabad, June 3: Kanak Jha and Sreeja Akula led the Jaipur Patriots to a 9-6 victory over Stanley's Chennai Lions in the IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 6 here on Tuesday (June 3) Despite a late comeback attempt by Chennai, Jaipur secured their win.
Jha, the top male paddler from the USA, made history by winning a match with three Golden Points against Kirill Gerassimenko. Following this, India's leading female paddler, Sreeja Akula, defeated Poymantee Baisya 3-0. This gave Jaipur an early 6-0 lead in the match.

The Jaipur Patriots extended their lead when Jha and Sreeja teamed up for mixed doubles. They won 2-1 against Payas Jain and Fan Siqi, ensuring Jaipur's first tie win of the season. This victory marked an impressive start for the team.
Chennai Lions showed resilience later in the match. Payas Jain achieved a 3-0 victory over Yashansh Malik in a battle of Delhi talents. Fan Siqi added two more games by defeating Britt Eerland 2-1. Although Chennai lost overall, they managed to secure six crucial games.
Sreeja Akula received dual honours as both the Indian Player and Shot of the Tie for her performance. Kanak Jha was awarded Foreign Player of the Tie for his contributions to Jaipur's success.
In parallel events, Dream UTT Juniors saw Kolkata ThunderBlades and Dempo Goa Challengers achieve identical 7-2 victories over Dabang Delhi TTC and PBG Pune Jaguars respectively. Ritvik Gupta and Swara Karmakar led Kolkata with singles wins and a strong doubles performance. Sahil Rawat and Aarya Redkar excelled for Goa against PBG Pune Challengers.
