Jamaica police to say Woolmer died of natural causes on Tuesday

Kingston, June 10 (UNI) Curtains will finally come down on Bob Woolmer mystery death saga, with Jamaica police set to break the silence on the ''bungled investigation'' at a press conference on Tuesday and say the Pakistan coach died of natural causes, according to a report.

National Security Minister, Dr Peter Phillips, and Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas will announce at the press conference that Woolmer was not murdered but died of heart attack, Sunday Gleaner reported.

The 58-year-old Woolmer was found dead in his Jamaica Pegasus hotel room on March 18, hours after Pakistan crashed out of the World Cup following their shock loss to Ireland.

Jamaica police first reported local pathologist Dr Ere Sheshiah's finding that the cause of death was inconclusive but later changed this to death by manual strangulation, and proceeded for a murder investigation.

However, after weeks of speculation onto the cause of death and various conspiracy theories, reports out of London said British Government pathologist Dr. Nat Cary concluded that Woolmer had not been strangled, but had died of heart failure.

Now, investigating agencies would be changing their position from murder of Woolmer to death by natural causes and this will be announced in Tuesday's press conference, the newspaper report said.
