Jamal Murray's Resilience Leads Denver Nuggets To Game 7 After Defeating Thunder

Despite battling illness, Jamal Murray scored 25 points to help the Denver Nuggets defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder. The win sets up a crucial Game 7 in the NBA playoffs.

Jamal Murray overcame illness to score 25 points, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 119-107 victory over the Thunder on Thursday night. This win forces a decisive Game 7 in Oklahoma City. Despite being sick since Wednesday and listed as questionable, Murray sparked the Nuggets with a four-point play at the start and a crucial step-back three-pointer in the fourth quarter.

Nikola Jokic was instrumental for Denver, contributing 29 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. Christian Braun also shone with a career playoff-high of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Julian Strawther, a second-year reserve guard, made a significant impact by scoring all his career playoff-high 15 points in the second half.

Murray Leads Nuggets to Game 7 Victory

Strawther's performance included two three-pointers and a layup during a pivotal 10-0 run in the third quarter that helped Denver secure a double-digit lead. His continued efforts in the fourth quarter ensured Denver's comfortable win in this challenging series. The Nuggets will face either Oklahoma City or Minnesota Timberwolves after their Game 7 clash on Sunday.

Aaron Gordon experienced discomfort late in the game, grabbing his left hamstring and limping through the final minutes. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City with 32 points, scoring 18 after halftime despite playing with four fouls from the second quarter onwards.

Chet Holmgren added 19 points for Oklahoma City. However, All-Star Jalen Williams struggled significantly, managing only six points on poor shooting of 3-of-16. The Thunder failed to secure their first Western Conference Finals appearance since losing to Golden State Warriors in seven games back in 2016.

The upcoming Game 7 promises to be intense as both teams vie for advancement. The winner will face Minnesota Timberwolves, who have already eliminated Golden State Warriors in five games. Denver hopes to maintain momentum while Oklahoma City aims to overcome its recent struggles.
