James Harden Prioritises Team Success Over Personal Achievements Following Triple-Double Record

James Harden achieved a triple-double in the Clippers' recent win but stated he prioritises team success over personal accolades. He scored 41 points and recorded 14 rebounds and 11 assists, becoming the franchise leader in triple-doubles.

James Harden recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming the Los Angeles Clippers' franchise leader in triple-doubles. Despite this personal achievement, Harden remains focused on team success. In a thrilling double-overtime victory against the Dallas Mavericks, the Clippers triumphed 133-127. Harden contributed significantly, scoring four of his 10 overtime points in the second extra period.

Harden's performance was remarkable, with season highs of 41 points and 14 rebounds, along with 11 assists. This marked the 82nd triple-double of his career. He became the first Clippers player to achieve a 40-point triple-double and is now the oldest NBA player to do so. "I just play and try to win games," Harden said about his accomplishment. "You put the work in, things happen like that."

Harden Focuses on Team Success Over Glory

The Clippers' victory over Dallas was crucial as it ended their six-game losing streak. Ivica Zubac also played a vital role by adding a season-high 27 points and securing 11 rebounds. This win improved their record to 4-8 for the season and marked their second consecutive victory in the NBA Cup.

The triumph against Dallas was Los Angeles' first win since they defeated the New Orleans Pelicans at the start of November with a close score of 126-124. The team is now looking forward to building on this momentum as they embark on a long road trip.

Reflecting on the game, Harden emphasised resilience as key to their success. "We just continue to fight," he stated about their recent struggles. Despite challenges, he believes in their ability to persevere and improve. "Everything is not always going to be pretty, but this was a good start for us," he added.

The Clippers are determined to take each game as it comes, focusing on one match at a time during their road trip. Harden's leadership and performance have been instrumental in motivating his teammates to maintain their fighting spirit.

This recent victory has provided a much-needed boost for the Clippers as they aim to improve their standing in the league. With continued effort and determination, they hope to achieve more successes in upcoming games.
