Jasjeet fires 70 for sole lead at LG Northern India Amateur
Gurgaon, Aug 8 (UNI) Title contender Jasjeet Singh shot a two under 70 to sit atop the leader board with a two day tally of 145 at the LG Northern India Amateur Golf Championship, here today.
Indian Oil's Gagan Verma returned a card of two over 74 to be placed second at 147. Overnight joint leader Angad Cheema found birdies extremely elusive and had to settle for a card of 78 and a tied-third position with Oil India's Abhishek Jha and ONGC's Vikram Rana at 150. Jha shot a 76 while Rana brought in a card of 74.
Ajeetesh Sandhu, Karan Vasudeva and Mithun Perera were a further stroke behind in tied sixth place at 151. While Sandhu shot a three over 75, Vasudeva and Perera returned cards of 78 and 76 respectively. ONGC's L Selvadurai (74) and OIL India's duo of Simarjeet Singh (75) and Manav Das (79) were tied for ninth place at 152.
The cut was applied at 21 over 165 with 43 golfers proceeding to the deciding rounds.
