Jeev eyes top 10 finish despite an erractic display

Phuket, Mar 3 (UNI) Double bogeys continued to haunt Jeev Milkha Singh and the ace Indian golfer dropped one on par four 10th but managed a decent one-under 71 card to stay on tied 11th after Round Three at the 2.44 million dollar Johnnie Walker Classic here today.

Aggregating six-under 210 in three rounds, the 2006 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner will be eyeing a top 10 finish tomorrow when he takes the field seven strokes adrift of the pace held by Richard Sterne. The South African continued his dream run and fired another 64 to jump into the lead from an overnight tied 11th.

Jeev, who had dropped five strokes on the last two holes yesterday, appeared to be in good nick as he made a turn with two under. However, he began his backward journey by dropping a double bogey on the 10th. He went on to hit two birdies against a bogey on the remaining holes to stay in the hunt.

Compatriot Rahil Gangjee returned an identical card (71) to take tied 21st spot with four-under 212.

Gaurav Ghei (tied 50th) and Shiv Kapur (tied 58th) will play for pride tomorrow as both the Indians knocked themselves out of contention after playing a bad 74 and worse 75 respectively.
