Jeev overtakes Randhawa in world golf rankings

New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) After clinching the Austrian Open title, India's Jeev Milkha Singh has gained 19 spots in the world golf rankings, overtaking compatriot Jyoti Randhawa.

Jeev, who produced a magnificent performance and parred all 18 holes of his final round yesterday to win the Austrian Open by a stroke, is now ranked 71st - up from 90th last week.

Randhawa, who missed the cut, is 74th.

Jeev also moved into the top-10 of the European Order of Merit.

He has grabbed the ninth place with earnings of just over 731,000 euros. His career-best ranking is 37th, achieved at the end of the 2006 season.

He is also second on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

''My aim is to get back and stay in top-50 of the world.

My game is going fine, but I just need to keep it moving,'' Jeev said from London, as he takes a week off.

India has two other golfers in the top-200 of the world with Arjun Atwal in 186th place and SSP Chowrasia at the 190th spot.

Shiv apur is 277th while Gaurav Ghei is 303rd Jeev's next tournament will be in Germany.
