Jeev, Shiv, Arjun slip; Chowrasia improves golf rankings
New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh could not arrest his slide and slipped a notch to 45, while the duo of Shiv Kapur and Arjun Atwal too lost some ground in the latest golf rankings issued today.
Jyoti Randhawa, with 1.58 average points, was the lone leading Indian player who managed to improve his position by a rung and finished at 88, according to information received here today.
Jeev, who was eliminated in the first round of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, slipped from his previous position of 44, while Shiv Kapur, currently second in the Asian Tour Order of Merit, lost four places to finish 162.
Among others, seasoned Gaurav Ghei was at 243, followed by the trio of Rahil Gangjee (295), Arjun Atwal (330) and S S P Chowrasia (360).
At the top, Tiger Woods has a lead over Jim Furyk. who holds the World Number 2 spot, of 10.47 average points.
On the other hand, Henrik Stenson became the highest-ranking Swede of all time after climbing three places to the fifth position after his win at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.
