Jeev stays at 57th; Randhawa up at 83rd in golf rankings
New Delhi (UNI) A creditable tied 36th in the US Open saw Jeev Milkha Singh stay put on the 57th spot while Jyoti Randhawa climbed a rung to 83rd spot in the latest world golf rankings.
Jeev, who stuggled but managed to secure his best-ever major finish at a treacherous Oakmont club on Sunday, hung on to his previous week's position with 2.15 average points.
Randhawa, who has had some meomorable outing in the Europen Tour this season was the only other Indian in the top-100 with 1.71 average points.
Gaurav Ghei (1.06), meanwhile, dropped down three places to 154 while Shiv Kapur, struggling to find his touch this season, was down at 221.
Angel Cabrera of Argentina, who shot a final round of 69 at Oakmont Country Club to hold off the challenges of World Number One Tiger Woods and World Number Three Jim Furyk, to win the US Open by a stroke jumped 24 places to become World Number 17.
Woods (20.09) remained numero uno player of the game and his lead over Phil Mickelson, the World Number 2, was now 11.19 average points.
