New Delhi, July 31: A none too impressive week in the greens took its toll on Indian golfers' standings with all of them slipping several rungs down the ladder in the latest official world golf rankings.
Jeev Milkha Singh, with 2.04 average points to his kitty, remained the highest-ranked Indian golfer but the Chandigarh pro climbed down a couple of places to touch a new season's low of 63rd after missing the cut at the Players Championship of Europe in Hamburg, his second in as many weeks.
Jyoti Randhawa (1.68) and Gaurav Ghei (.97), both of who also fell by the wayside at the halfway mark at Hamburg, were also down four and six rungs to 90th and 173rd spots respectively.
The lone Indian to survive for weekend action at the same tourney, Shiv Kapur (.68), also lost a spot to 250th.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods (18.96) has held the World Number One position for a total of 454 weeks and has a lead over Jim Furyk, back at World Number Two after his Canadian Open win, of 10.02 average points.
