Jha guides OIL India 'A' to PSPB inter unit golf tournament title

Chandigarh, Sep 15 (UNI) Country's number two amateur golfer Abhishek Jha along with Manav Das and Karan Vasudeva helped Oil India 'A' to clinch the 28th PSPB Inter-Unit Golf tournament here today.

Oil India ended the tournament with a tally of 420, six strokes clear of ONGC 'A' team who finished second at 426.

Host Indian Oil 'A' finished third at 431.

For Oil India 'A' team, Abhishek Jha and Joseph Chakola shot 70 each while Manav Das brought in a card of 72. ONGC's Saurabh Bahuguna shot a 70 while Vikram Rana and JS Dullet carded rounds of 73 and 75 respectively.

For Indian Oil 'A' team, Karan Vasudeva brought in a card of 70 while Gagan Verma and Moin Malak shot rounds of 73 and 72 respectively.

Abhishek Jha also clinched the individual title despite a tough competition from ONGC's Vikram Rana. Jha won on the sixth play-off hole with a par after both the golfers were tied at 138.

Oil India's Simarjeet Singh brought in the day's best card of three under 69 to finish tied third with team mate Manav Das and Joseph Chakola at 141. Das shot a level par 72 today.

Final scores (Gross): Oil India 'A' 420; ONGC 'A' 426; IOC 'A' 431 Nett winning team: ONGC 'C' 413, Nett runner-up team: IOCL 'A' 423 Individual (Gross): 138 Abhishek Jha UNI
