The leader of the new era of renowned Team Lakay, Jhanlo Mark Sangiao, returns to action this Saturday, 12 July, against a formidable foe in Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg in a bantamweight MMA fight at ONE Fight Night 33.
The 22-year-old is also the son of the team's head coach Mark Sangiao, who has produced several ONE World Champions. After suffering defeats in their most recent bouts, both fighters will put everything on the line in their clash at Bangkok, Thailand's historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Competing in his first fight since August 2023, Sangiao is confident in the training he receives at his own gym. He states that he trains with better fighters than his opponent and is ready for whatever Zoltsetseg has to offer.
"I train with better fighters who hit heavier than him here in Team Lakay," Sangiao said. "You look at who I'm training with, I'm working with Carlo Bumina-ang. I'm working with Jean Claude Saclag, so I'm prepared for his striking, for sure."
ONE Warrior Series contract winner Zoltsetseg has two promotional wins under his belt, both against tough Chinese fighters. With his well-rounded skill set, the Mongolian could pose a serious threat to Sangiao and become the second fighter from his country to defeat him.
For his part, "The Machine" began his ONE journey in spectacular fashion, winning three consecutive bouts via first-round submission. However, fate had other plans for him, and he suffered a submission loss to another Mongolian, Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu.
Now soon to be a father, Sangiao is ready for his next challenge. The Team Lakay prince says his focus will be on executing his game plan. He further added that fans can expect a new version of him in the upcoming bout.
"I expect him to come out showboating. But I won't be affected. I must not be affected. I have to focus on the game plan and focus on the win," Sangiao said.
"Expect a better Jhanlo Sangiao, expect an upgraded version of 'The Machine' when I return. Expect a finish. I really want to finish this so we Filipinos can get back at the Mongolians who've been beating us for the longest time."
