Jharkhand defeat Jammu

Rourkela, Apr 28 (UNI) In a lopsided match, Jharkhand today beat Jammu and Kashmir 5-0 in the 15th Women's Senior National Football Championship at the Ispat Stadium here.

In another match at Sarsa Stadium in Bandamonda, Mizoram defeated Chhattisgarh 1-0.

Malini Sinku of Jharkhand scored four goals in the first half to take the lead of 4-0. She scored a hattrick and netted the goals in 10th, 22nd, 26th and 32nd minutes.

In the second half, Shanti Paraya scored the fifth goal in the 90th minute to make the tally 5-0. Shanti Paraya was adjudged the best player of the match for her brilliant performance in the game.

In the second match, S.Malsawam Thangi of Mizoram scored the lone goal at the dying moment to defeat Chhattishgarah 1-0.

Lalvarmaw Thmar of Mizoram, however, emerged as the player of the match for her superb performance.
