Jharkhand medal winners get monetary awards

Ranchi, Feb 27 (PTI) The Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation(DAF) today presented monetary awards to all the sportspersonswho won medals for Jharkhand in the just concluded 34thNational Games.

Gold medallist received cheques for Rs 41,000while silver and bronze winners got Rs 31,000 and Rs 21,000respectively at a ceremony organised by Rajya Sabha memberParimal Nathwani under the auspices of DAF.

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker C P Singh presided over thefunction while Ranchi Mayor Rama Khalko and National GamesOrganising Committee chairman R K Anand were guests at thefunction.

The speaker praised Nathwani and DAF for felicitatingsportspersons.

The hosts finished fifth in the overall standingwinning 33 gold, 26 silver and 37 bronze medals.
