Investment By Parth Jindal Aims To Expand Padel Sport Across India

PadelPark India, a leading entity in the Indian padel ecosystem, has secured new funding led by Parth Jindal, Founder of JSW Sports and Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS). This investment aims to boost the sport's growth in the country.

Padel, originating from Mexico, has seen a surge in global popularity. The number of courts worldwide increased from 10,000 in 2016 to over 50,000 in 2024 and is expected to reach around 60,000 by 2026. Last year alone saw more than 2,500 new padel clubs open globally.

Global Padel Industry Growth

The global padel industry is valued at over $2.2 billion with more than 25 million players across 110 countries. It is projected to grow at an annual rate of 22%, reaching $6.6 billion by 2026. Key factors driving this growth include rising interest in sports, endorsements by public figures, and increasing international competitions.

India presents a significant market opportunity with its large population actively participating in sports. With 23% of Indians engaged in sports activities, there are approximately 232 million potential padel enthusiasts in the country.

Parth Jindal's Vision for PadelPark India

Parth Jindal expressed his enthusiasm for the investment: "PadelPark is building an ecosystem for the sport of Padel in the country, ranging from establishing the necessary infrastructure to creating a coach and student education program to establishing a robust tournament framework. The Founders' vision of expanding access through innovation and community building aligns perfectly with our own vision of transforming India into a sporting nation."

Ronak Daftary, Co-founder of PadelPark India, shared his excitement about the partnership: "We are excited to have Parth & his team on board with us and share his vision of making India the largest producer and distributor of Padel courts in the world. We firmly believe that Parth is the right person to help regulate the sport in India."

PadelPark India's Expansion Plans

Headquartered in Mumbai and self-funded since its inception in 2020, PadelPark India is committed to advancing padel infrastructure through a strategic partnership with Sky Padel, a leading Spanish organization. The company also operates the Indian Padel Academy, offering coaching and training at both grassroots and advanced levels.

The co-founders — Ronak Daftary, Jigar Doshi, Nikhil Sachdev, and Pratik Doshi — bring extensive experience in managing sports infrastructure and share a deep passion for promoting sports adoption across India.

Currently operating 11 padel courts in Mumbai and having constructed over 22 courts for various entities including sports clubs, hotels, resorts, and corporate clients like Willingdon Sports Club and NSCI club, PadelPark India plans to establish more than 100 padel clubs nationwide over the next few years through both owned and franchise-run centers.

Upcoming Initiatives

The new funding will be used to scale up their infrastructure and enhance their academy's offerings as well as events. In the next three months alone, they aim to deliver 40 new padel courts. Additionally, they plan to open 15 new padel centers or clubs within the next two months and train 250 people starting next month.

On August 23rd, PadelPark India will host India's largest on-ground padel tournament featuring 90 teams and top-tier sponsors.

This strategic investment marks a significant step towards making India a prominent player in the global padel scene while fostering local talent through enhanced facilities and training programs.
