Jitender boxes out Doniyorov to move into quarters

Beijing, Aug 16 (UNI) India's Jitender Kumar moved into the quartefinals as he boxed out Tulashboy Doniyorov of Uzbekistan in the men's Fly (51kg) event of the Olympic boxing competition here today.

The Indian did not give his Uzbekistani counterpart any breathing space as he won the match 4-1, 1-0, 6-3, 2-2 (13-6).

In the quarter final stage Jitender will meet Georgy Balakshin of Russia who defeated Kazakhstan's Mirat Sarsembayev in his pre-quarter final match.

Jitender started the fourth and the final round with an impressive 11-4 lead and then landed two more punches to finish the match with a convincing 13-6 win.
