JJ Redick Commends Lakers For Strong Performance Against Wizards In 134-96 Victory

Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick praised his team's execution in a dominant 134-96 win over the Washington Wizards. Despite missing key players, the Lakers showcased resilience and teamwork, with standout performances from Shake Milton and LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers secured a commanding 134-96 victory over the Washington Wizards, boosting their record to 27-19 and placing them fifth in the Western Conference. Despite missing Anthony Davis, the team showcased resilience and depth. Rookie Dalston Knecht was ejected after receiving two technical fouls for arguing with officials, but the Lakers maintained their focus and intensity throughout the game.

Coach JJ Redick praised his team's performance, highlighting their aggressive play. "I asked the guys to play with an edge and I thought they did that. We were the instigators, did not intend for that edge to be taken out on the officials by a couple of our guys," said Redick. He appreciated their anger and determination, noting their excellent execution despite missing key players.

Redick Praises Lakers' Strong Win Over Wizards

Shake Milton played a pivotal role in the win, contributing 21 points, four rebounds, and four assists while shooting an impressive seven out of eight from the field. His energy and organisation on the court were crucial in maintaining the team's momentum. Redick specifically acknowledged Milton's leadership and impact during critical moments of the game.

Trey Jamieson III also delivered a strong performance, particularly in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. Redick commended Jamieson and his teammates for playing "the right way" throughout the match. Their effort reflected consistent discipline on both ends of the court, which was vital for securing such a decisive victory.

LeBron James contributed significantly with 24 points and 11 assists before resting in the fourth quarter. In his post-game remarks, Redick emphasised James' professionalism and leadership despite being 40 years old in his 22nd season. "Don't overlook the fact that he's 40 years old in year 22 with every accolade under the sun," Redick stated.

James set a positive tone against a struggling opponent on a non-nationally televised Thursday night game. His ability to lead by example continues to inspire his teammates and contribute to their success on the court.

The Lakers' victory demonstrated their depth and adaptability even without some top players. The team's collective effort highlighted their potential as they continue to navigate through challenges this season.
