Srinagar, Nov 1 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir took a vital 94 runs first innings lead against Himachal Pradesh on the third day of the four-day match in C K Naidu under-22 cricket tournament, being played at Sher-i-Kashmir cricket stadium here today.
Resuming at an overnight score of 102 for 7, the visitors were bundled out for 278 after successfully avoiding a follow on, due to a brilliant century by Barun Sharma.
The overnight batsman Barun Sharma playing on 44 completed his century before getting out on 124. Another not out batsman Abishek Sharma scored 65. The two notched up 112 runs for the eight wicket and helped the visitors to avoid the follow on.
The hosts lost an early wicket when the score was just 20 in their second innings after taking a first inning lead of 94 runs.
Manish Dogra, who scored a century in the first inning also, completed his half-century in the second inning before he fell on 53.
At the draw of stamps the hosts were 138 for 4 (overall lead 232 runs).
Vishal Sharma took two wickets for the visitors in the second innings.
