The world was stunned when two-sport, two-division ONE Muay Thai World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 destroyed bantamweight kickboxing king Jonathan Haggerty in the main event of ONE 168: Denver, and podcast extraordinaire Joe Rogan was among those in amazement.
"The Kicking Machine" dispatched Haggerty in just 49 seconds to claim the bantamweight Muay Thai crown inside Denver, Colorado's Ball Arena on Saturday, 7 September. Rogan took to the airwaves earlier this week to gush over the knockout on episode #163 of the JRE MMA Show.

"Dude, Superlek is this bad ass Muay Thai fighter. He fought Jonathan Haggerty [at ONE 168: Denver]," Rogan informed guests John Rallo, Matt Serra and Din Thomas.
"Their first fight six years ago was a real close fight, and since then Haggerty became the champion and everyone thought this was going to be a much different fight. But what I saw that was interesting was that somebody broke down Haggerty's tells."
Superlek may be known for his relentless kicking game that's caused many of his opponents to fall inside the distance, but his counter elbows have also become one of his most devastating weapons in recent times.
He's bloodied up many foes with the sharp strike, including ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon last September at ONE Friday Fights 34. Haggerty was the latest victim of Superlek's prowess, and Rogan heaped praise on the Thai's strategic showing.
"Haggerty has a certain hop and Superlek had timed it. He tried it earlier in the round and didn't catch it but this time he got his head off the center line and timed it perfectly. A perfect elbow," the commentator professed.
ONE Championship was a topic of discussion on the Joe Rogan Experience recently when Russell Crowe featured on episode #2191. The Academy Award-winning actor is set to star in MMA action-drama The Beast In Me later this year.
The plot sees Daniel MacPherson star as an out-of-work former MMA fighter who suffers after a tragedy involving his brother. But with the assistance of a veteran trainer portrayed by Crowe, he spurs up the courage to chase his dream of competing in ONE Championship.
The movie will also feature ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong as well as other specially selected talent from the roster. Filming for the scene will take place on January 24, 2025, at a ONE Friday Fights tentpole event inside Bangkok, Thailand's Impact Arena.
