Bengaluru, February 7: John Dodson is set to finally meet Pedro Munhoz in UFC 222 on March 3 in Las Vegas, according to MMA Fighting.

The pair were scheduled to face each other last weekend at UFC Belem, but Munhoz missed weight by four pounds on Friday (February 2) and Dodson declined to take the fight.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal was the first to report the news and MMA Fighting confirmed the same on Tuesday (February 6) with the UFC.

After failing to make weight at the Brazil event, Munhoz blamed it on the lack of hot water in the hotel and he wasn't the only competitor on the UFC Belem card to make that claim, either.

Dodson is fresh off a very close split decision loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC Norfolk in November. The 33-year-old is a former two-time flyweight title challenger and owns a victory at bantamweight over current champion T.J. Dillashaw.

Meanwhile, Munhoz is on a four fight winning streak. The Brazilian's most recent outing was a first-round submission win against Rob Font at UFC Sao Paulo in October.

The UFC 222 card is currently without a main event after Max Holloway pulled our of his featherweight title defense against Frankie Edgar due to injury. Edgar still might fight on the card with a contender bout against Brian Ortega being discussed.

MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani has reported that if no legitimate main event is found, UFC 222 could become a Fight Night card rather than a pay-per-view event.
