Johnson wins playoff to claim Atlanta Classic
ATLANTA, May 21 (Reuters) Masters champion Zach Johnson won a playoff over Japan's Ryuji Imada to take the Atlanta Classic in Duluth, Georgia.
The pair finished the tournament 15-under-par (273) with Johnson firing an impressive round of 67 (five under) on Sunday while Imada, the overnight joint leader, needed a birdie on the 18th to take the match into a playoff.
Imada had looked in trouble on the par-five final hole when he overhit his second shot to go over the back of the green but he retrieved the situation with a superb chip which left him with a simple putt.
In the sudden-death playoff, back on the par five 18th, Imada found water with his second shot and Johnson finished him off, keeping his cool for a birdie.
