Jokic Stars With 35 Points As Nuggets Defeat Thunder In High-Scoring Rematch

Nikola Jokic scored 35 points and led the Denver Nuggets to a 140-127 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The win avenged a prior loss and solidified Denver's position in the Western Conference standings.

Nikola Jokić delivered an impressive performance with 35 points, 18 rebounds, and eight assists, while Jamal Murray contributed 34 points. This led the Denver Nuggets to a 140-127 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The win avenged their previous loss on Sunday. Jokić improved his shooting from Sunday’s 10-for-23 to an efficient 15 of 20, scoring 10 crucial points in the fourth quarter.

Despite Oklahoma City's strong defensive reputation, they struggled against Denver's offense. The Nuggets shot an impressive 60.5% from the field and 56.3% from three-point range. Peyton Watson and Jalen Pickett added depth with a combined 24 points off the bench, making nine of their eleven attempts.

Nuggets Overcome Thunder in Thrilling Rematch

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, another MVP contender, scored 25 points for the Thunder after his outstanding 40-point game on Sunday. Luguentz Dort led Oklahoma City in scoring with 26 points, hitting eight of his fourteen three-point attempts. Despite their efforts, Oklahoma City couldn't contain Denver's offensive surge.

The victory allowed Denver (42-23) to secure second place in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City (53-12) maintains a significant lead for the top seed in the West by eleven games.

Noah Clowney scored 19 points off the bench as the Brooklyn Nets snapped a seven-game losing streak by defeating the Los Angeles Lakers 111-108. LeBron James missed this game due to a left groin strain sustained last Thursday against Boston Celtics and is expected to be out for at least another week.

In James' absence, Luka Dončić recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists. Dončić made a deep three-pointer and assisted in the final minute but couldn’t close the gap entirely for Los Angeles. His full-court attempt at the buzzer hit the video screen.

Grizzlies Rally Past Suns

Ja Morant led Memphis Grizzlies with a stellar performance of 29 points and 12 rebounds as they overcame a 16-point deficit to defeat Phoenix Suns. Morant was highly efficient, shooting nine of thirteen from the field and perfect inside the arc and at free throws.

Memphis had seven players scoring double figures including Cam Spencer who added sixteen points in under twenty minutes off the bench. This win marked Memphis' third consecutive victory after struggling with three wins in their previous eleven games.

Phoenix Suns were led by Kevin Durant who scored thirty-five points while making seven of nine three-pointers. Devin Booker supported with twenty-six points along with nine rebounds and six assists but could not prevent falling two-and-a-half games behind for West’s final play-in spot.
