Jonathan Di Bella Defeats Zhang Peimian Again to Retain ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title
Bangkok, July 18: ONE Championship delivered another thrilling night of combat as The Inner Circle 22 and ONE Friday Fights 162 lit up the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on July 17. Headlining the event, Jonathan Di Bella successfully defended his ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship with a unanimous decision victory over Zhang Peimian, improving to 2-0 against his longtime rival four years after their first meeting. The double-header also featured a series of explosive knockouts and high-intensity bouts across kickboxing, Muay Thai, and mixed martial arts, making for an action-packed evening in the Thai capital.
Both men lit up the ring from the opening bell with crisp hand combinations and sharp counters that never let the pace drop. Zhang landed a powerful right hook in round three.
Then he scored a crescent kick to the midsection in the fourth that visibly slowed the champion. But Di Bella's superior boxing combinations and world-class fight IQ kept him ahead throughout all five rounds.

Adam "El Capitano" Benwarwar produced one of the bantamweight Muay Thai division's most emotional performances in the ONE Friday Fights 162 main event, stopping Kongklai Sor Sommai via TKO at 2:44 of round two - having learned of his grandfather's passing before entering the ring.
Kongklai dropped Benwarwar in round one with a left hook, then put him down in the second with a punch combination. Both times the Moroccan rose and kept fighting. A right cross turned the fight, a follow-up hook sent Kongklai down, and a finishing combination ended it at the ropes.
Veteran Thai standout Khunponnoi Sor Sommai controlled the co-main event flyweight Muay Thai contest with his relentless left kicks, landing to the body and head of Scotland's Gregor Thom throughout the first two rounds to build a decisive early advantage.
Thom surged back in the third with a powerful right hook that rocked a tiring Khunponnoi, but the 33-year-old Thai weathered the storm from the clinch and landed more trademark kicks before the final bell. All three judges sided with Khunponnoi, improving his record to 128-34.
