Jonathan Haggerty Talks Hollywood Dreams, Wants Daniel Craig To Play Him In A Movie

Reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan Haggerty is not just conquering the ring, he is also making waves on the red carpet. The British star has been embracing London's movie premiere scene, and he admits the experience has sparked genuine Hollywood ambitions.

"The General's" rise inside ONE Championship continues ahead of his title defense against former divisional ruler Hiroki Akimoto in the main event of ONE SAMURAI 4 on October 17. The 29-year-old holds a striking record of 24-5 and a ONE mark of 10-3, having won eight of his last nine bouts.

Away from the ring, Haggerty has developed a taste for the glitz and glamour surrounding blockbuster film releases. He revealed that if the right opportunity ever presented itself, he would not hesitate to pursue a role on the big screen.

"I'm enjoying going to all these premieres, so if there's a day I get the offer to become part of a big movie, I'd never say never. I'd love to be part of a big Hollywood movie. I think I'll thrive," Haggerty said.

Pressed on who could potentially portray him should a biographical film ever come to fruition, Haggerty did not hesitate with his answer. He even suggested a role for his younger brother, Freddie Haggerty, who competes as a Muay Thai fighter in ONE Championship.

"Daniel Craig will be the perfect guy who can play my role. I'll get Freddie in there too so he can act as the younger version of myself. As for how the movie ends, I'd love for it to end with a knockout," he said.

Haggerty also drew comparisons between himself and one particular iconic action hero, pointing to shared traits that he believes align closely with his own fighting persona.

"John Wick, because he's an assassin. I see a lot of stuff that I do that he can do, too. And there's always that mysterious aura about John Wick, so it just makes perfect sense if I'm being honest," Haggerty said.
