Justin Rose has encouraged Jon Rahm to ensure his eligibility for the Ryder Cup next year. The Spaniard, currently playing on the LIV circuit, must participate in three DP World Tour events by November's end to qualify for selection.
The Spanish Open appears to be the most feasible option for Rahm, a two-time major winner. However, he has yet to submit an entry, which is due by September 12. If Rahm does not meet these requirements, Luke Donald cannot select him, even as a wild card, as Europe aims to defend their trophy at Bethpage next September.

Rose emphasised the importance of having Rahm on the team for Team Europe's chances in New York next year. He also acknowledged the necessity of enforcing tour regulations. "No matter where the world rankings say he is or the golf that he is competing against, we know what a great player he is," Rose said after an event at Brocket Hall.
Rose believes that not having Rahm would significantly impact Team Europe's performance. "My point is you want him on the team," Rose stated. He added that there is a pathway for Rahm to play in the Ryder Cup if he chooses to meet the requirements.
"I think that's all the DP World Tour can do," Rose continued. "They have their interests to protect, and I still think that it is a doable situation should the player want to choose to do it."
Rahm's participation could be crucial for Europe's defence of their title next September. The team will need all its top players available to compete effectively at Bethpage.
Ensuring eligibility through participation in required events remains essential for any player aiming for Ryder Cup selection. This rule applies regardless of their current world ranking or other competitions they are involved in.
Rose's comments highlight both the importance of individual players' choices and adherence to tour regulations in shaping a successful Ryder Cup team.
