Kalmadi all set to continue as IOA president

Pune, Sept 21 (UNI) Member of Parliament Suresh Kalmadi is all set to retain the post of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President for the fourth term in the elections to be held here on October 10.

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) and the elections to the country's apex body will be held for the first time in the city, on the eve of the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008.

The AGM will discuss the Chef-De-Mission reports of the Beijing Olympics and the Children of Asia Game held in Russia from July 4-12, among other issues.

The IOA elections are held every four years to choose a president, a senior vice-president, 12 vice-presidents, secretary general, six joint secretaries, a treasurer, members from the representative state Olympic Association, 15 members from the representatives of national sports federations, association and services sports control boards.
