Kalmadi promises to make 2010 CWG a resounding success

Pune, Oct 10 (UNI) Suresh Kalmadi, who was today re-elected as the President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) for the fourth consecutive term said he would devote all his energies to make the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi a resounding success.

Kalmadi, however, said his first task is to ensure that the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, which are a preparation for the main Commonwealth Games, to be held at Pune from October 12-18 a grand success.

IOA secretary General Randhir Singh, who was also relected for the fourth consecutive term along with Kalmadi, expressed his gratitude to the house.

Singh said, ''With Mr Kalmadi at the helm we are sure of making the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi a success.'' ''That is our prime target,'' he added.
