Kanthi Dutt Launches Fear Project with 750km Solo Cycle from Hyderabad to Mumbai

By MyKhel Staff

Ultra-endurance cyclist Kanthi Dutt has embarked on a 750-kilometre solo cycling journey from Hyderabad to Mumbai beginning March 7, 2026, marking the official launch of the Fear Project - an initiative dedicated to building psychological resilience through endurance sport.

A Brand Ambassador of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Kanthi's first-ever road tour carries institutional support and aligns with the national vision of the Fit India Movement. The seven-day expedition represents both a significant athletic undertaking and a deeply personal mission.

The Fear Project was born out of lived experience. Following the loss of his father, Kanthi faced a period of profound emotional difficulty. During that time, fitness became more than a routine - it became a stabilising force. What began as a way to cope gradually transformed into a disciplined pursuit of endurance sport, with cycling emerging as a powerful tool for mental clarity and emotional recovery.

"I did not begin this journey for medals," Kanthi says. "I began it because fitness helped me heal. Cycling gave me structure, purpose and the strength to face fear instead of avoiding it."

The Hyderabad-Mumbai ride marks Kanthi's first official road touring expedition. Over seven consecutive days, he will navigate approximately 750 kilometres of diverse terrain, testing both physical stamina and mental resilience. The route includes a key milestone in Pune, where 500 kilometres completed will be acknowledged by members of the local fitness and sporting community, before the final leg into Mumbai.

The expedition is designed to demonstrate the core philosophy of the Fear Project: that fear does not have to be a stopping point. Instead, it can serve as a catalyst for growth. Through endurance challenges, storytelling and community engagement, the initiative seeks to encourage individuals to confront personal limitations - both real and perceived.

As India's fitness movement continues to expand, Kanthi's ride reinforces a broader message that physical activity is closely connected to emotional wellbeing. Supported by SAI and aligned with the Fit India Movement, the journey highlights the importance of cultivating both mental and physical strength.

"Endurance sport teaches you to stay present when things get uncomfortable," Kanthi explains. "On long rides, you face fatigue, doubt and fear. But you also discover resilience. That is what this project stands for."

The ride began in Hyderabad on March 7, 2026, and will conclude in Mumbai on 14th March at Inorbit Mall, Vashi. Supporters, members of the sporting community and well-wishers are expected to follow the journey as it unfolds.

Journey Updates

Kanthi started riding from Hyderabad at 11 am on 7th March, reached Woxsen University Sadasivpet by 7 pm. Next morning, he organised several fun sporting activities and awarded the winners with exciting prizes from Neemans Footwear & Who Moved My Protein. He kickstarted his day 2 from Woxsen at 11 am and reached Sadasivapet at 9 pm on 8th March! This morning he started at 6 am and until latest update (1 pm) he covered 250km from the beginning at Novotel HiTech City.

By transforming personal adversity into collective inspiration, Kanthi Dutt aims to use the road as a platform for a national conversation about inner strength. The 750-kilometre journey is not only about distance covered, but about the message carried forward - that resilience is built through consistent effort, and that sometimes the most powerful way to confront fear is simply to keep moving.
