Kapil hopes India will make good in World Cup
Kolkata, Jan 31 (UNI) Former captain Kapil Dev today said he did not believe in experiments of losing games and hoped India would find the right combination to post a strong challenge in the World Cup.
Talking to reporters here, Kapil Dev, whose compnay- Dev Musco- signed a MOU with the West Bengal government to build floodlit facility at Barasat stadium, said '' I do not bilieved in experimenting of losing. I always believed in experiments to win.
An experiment that makes you lose a game is not an experiment in my eye''.
He was speaking about the continuous experiments in the Indian team under Greg Chappell.
Asked about the return to form of Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil said Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni coming to form was a good thing for Indian cricket. He said India should put up better performance against Sri Lanka and peak during the World Cup this year.
Asked which were the areas Indian could improve, he said, ''We require improvement in every department. There is no end to improving, especially when we want to become world champions''.
On whether Sourav Ganguly should be made captain of the one-day side, he said, ''Don't confuse''. ''Selectors are doing a good job. We want to win the world cup and don't want any confusion.'' Kapil Dev compamy will construct floodlit facility of FIFA standard at Barasat stadium and signed a MOU to this effect with the state government.
State Sport Minister Subash Chakraborty said, ''We are happy after signing the contract with Kapil Dev for Barasat stadium. We will take up floodlit work at Siliguri, Howrah and then Burdaman stadium.'' ''We want to make world class infrastructure and will proceed to this effect .'' Mr Chakraborty added.
