Kapur disappoints; ends tied 20th
Abu Dhabi, Jan 21 (UNI) When he should have gone for the kill, Shiv Kapur, tied second overnight, shot himself in the foot returning a horrible three-over 75 final round for a poor tied 20th finish at the two million dollar Abu Dhabi Golf Championship here today.
Kapur aggregated nine-under 279 and finished eight shots off Englishman Paul Casey, who powered past the overnight leaders with a sensational seven-under par 65 to win the European Tour's season opening tourney.
Swede Peter Hanson and Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain finished a stroke behind Casey to take the joint second spot.
Meanwhile, it was utter disappointment for the talented Indian golfer who started the day just a stroke off the pace.
After enjoying consecutive blemish-free rounds over past two days, Shiv traded only in bogeys. He dropped a stroke on the fifth and another on the seventh to make the turn at two-over. He ended his misery after dropping another on the penultimate hole.
