Kapur tied 3rd as bad weather interrupts Rd 1 at Indonesia open
Jakarta, Feb 15 (UNI) Shiv Kapur seemed to have bounced back from his prolonged poor run as he fired a four-under 67 today to take the tied third position in a rain-interrupted Round One at the 1.02 million dollar Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open here today.
The 2005 Asian Tour's Rookie of the Year mixed five birdies with a bogey to stay just two strokes off the pace. Thailand's Chawalit Plaphol enjoyed a blemish free round and took the clubhouse lead with a six-under 65 in the Asian and European Tour co-sanctioned event.
Korean young gun Park Jun-won also had a good day on course as he was four under after 12 holes when play was suspended due to lightning at 1700 hrs local time. The first round will resume at 0640 hrs tomorrow.
After missing the cut in Malaysia last week, Kapur, who started on the back nine, kept a steady pace in the opening round firing five birdies before dropping a shot at the eighth hole.
Meanwhile, after a 68, Gaurav Ghei, a two-time winner on the Asian Tour, got into the swing of things in tied sixth place alongside, among others, compatriot SSP Chowrasia.
