Kartik's 9 for 73 guide Middlesex to thumping win over Glamorgan

London, Aug 2 (UNI) Left-arm spinner Murali Kartik took a match-haul of nine for 73 as Midddlesex drubbed Glamorgan by an innings an 71 runs in a County Division Two match at Lord's.

Glamoragan batsmen found Kartik almost unplayable as the Indian spinner followed his magical six for 21 spell by a three for 52 in the second to single-handedly guide Middlesex to victory over the Welsh country.

It was Glamorgan's sixth defeat of the season. Kartik was denied a 10-wicket match haul when Alan Richardson trapped Wharf lbw after a 96-ball innings.

Earlier, Robert Croft made 20 before he was first out, lbw to Chris Silverwood.

Kartik picked up his ninth wicket of the match when Dean Cosker (two) attempted an ill-judged swipe and was bowled.
