Katich compliments Indians for executing plans to perfection

By Staff

Nagpur, Nov 8 (UNI) Australian opening batsman Simon Katich, who cracked a brilliant century today, paid compliments to the Indians for executing their plans to perfection.

Speaking to the media after the day's play, Simon Katich said he was not surprised at the tactics India employed as it was not them who needed a win in this Test, but it was us (Australia) who needed to press for a win to sqaure the series.

''The tactics employed by India would have looked real bad if they had not come off, but today they executed their plans to perfection and all credit to them for doing so,'' he said.

On the reason, why Australia did not try to break the shackles, Katich said we had planned to play ourselves in first session without losing too many wickets and then go on the offensive.

''However, both Hussey and me got out which made it very difficult for us to go on the attack as planned,'' he added.

The Western Australian said they would like to chase anything less than 300 on the final day.
