Kendriya Vidyalaya sports meet from October 12

Bhopal, Oct 9(UNI) Nearly 6,000 students from across the country will participate in the five-day 38th national sports and games competition of Kendriya Vidyalayas beginning here on October 12.

Competitions in 37 events will be held at different venues in and around Bhopal, according to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Assistant Commissioner V K Shrivastava.

Union Minister for Human Resources Arjun Singh will inaugurate the competition, while Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the inaugural function.

Talking to reporters, Mr Shrivastava said in individual events, cash prize of Rs 2500, Rs 2000 and Rs 1500 would be given to those coming in first, second and third positions. Team event winners and runners-up will also be given cash prize.
