Kerala athlets win honours

Puducherry, Oct 2 (UNI) Kerala athlets Sheejil Varghese and Joyal Joseph bagged the gold in 400 metres hurdles and 110 metres hurdles respectively in the boys' under 20 category in the 19th South Zone Junior Athletics Championships-2007 here today.

Sheejil finished in 54.2 seconds, while Joyal clocked 14.3 seconds.

The results: Boys under 16--100 m Hurdles-- Srisailam (AP) 14.3 seconds (Gold), Santhosh Kumar (TN) 14.3 seconds (Silver), Sumanth M K (KTK) 15.0 seconds (Bronze).

Boys under 18--110 m Hurdles-- Azaruddin (TN) 14.5 seconds(gold), Ch Eswar Reddy (AP) 14.5 sec (silver), Dilip Venugopal (Ker) 14.7 sec (Bronze).

Boys under 18--400 m Hurdles-- Jithin Paul (Ker) 54.4 sec(Gold), Adil Francis (AP) 54.6 sec (silver), Vikas Chandran ( Ker) 54.7 (Bronze).

Girls under 16--100 m Hurdles-- R Kowsalya (TN) 15.7 sec (Gold), Adheena P G (Ker) 16.1 (silver), Anvitha N (Ktk) 16.4 sec (bronze).

Boys under 20--110 m Hurdles-- Joyal Joseph (Ker) 14.3 sec (Gold), T Balamurugan (TN) 14.5 sec (silver), S Satti Baby (AP) 14.5 sec (bronze).

Boys under 20 --400 m Hurdles -- Sheejil Varghese (Ker) 54.2 sec (gold), T Balamurugan (TN) 55.2 sec (silver), Joel Joseph (Ker) 58.4 sec (bronze).

Girls under 18-- 100 m Hurdles-- Hemashree J (TN) 14.77 sec (gold), Gayathry (TN) 14.8 sec (silver), Darsana M S (Ker) 15.2 sec (bronze).

Girls under 18-- 400 m Hurdles-- R Vigneswari (TN) 66.3 sec (gold), S S Anusha (AP) 67.7 sec (silver), S Nivedha (TN) 68.2 sec (bronze).

Girls under 20--100 m Hurdles -- Raji C T (Ker) 15.6 sec (gold), Hani V (TN) 15.8 sec (silver), Keerthana (TN) 16.7 sec (bronze).

Girls under 20-- 400 m Hurdles-- Sonia K A (Ker) 63.5 sec (gold), R Ramya (TN) 65.4 sec (silver), Tiana Mary Thomas (Ker ) 66.7 sec (bronze).
