Kerala continues domination

Vijayawada, Nov 26 (UNI) Kerala boys and girls continued their domination on day three of 23rd Reliance Junior National Athletics Championship here today.

In boys U-16 5,000 m walk, Littish Joseph won the gold by clocking 24:29.12, while Avinash of Haryana and Deepak Kumar Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, by clocking 25:03.36 and 25:18.26, won the silver and bronze, respectively.

In girls U-16 3,000 m walk, Meeshma K M and Remyamol R of Kerala, by clocking 15:55.13 and 16:46.61, bagged gold and silver, respectively, while S H Sabharini Devi of Manipur won the bronze by clocking 18:04.08.

In the U-20 girls heptathlon event, Asha P J of Kerala won the gold with 4,088 points, while Birangana Thakur of West Bengal, scoring 3,684 points, won the silver. N Gayathri of Tamil Nadu bagged the bronze with 3,550 points.

In the U-16 girls high jump event, Steny Michael of Kerala bagged gold with 1.60 m, while Jinu Mariya Manuel of Kerala won silver with 1.53 m and Sonu of Haryana bagged bronze with 1.50 m.
