Kerala, KU jointly win kayaking and canoeing championship

Srinagar, Nov 13 (UNI) Hosts Kashmir University anda Kerala unversity shared honours by jointly winning the All India Inter-University kayaking and canoeing championship being held here today.

In 200-mt canoeing (men), Kashmir University secured the first position while Punjab University (Patiala) was second followed by Nainital University at the third position.

In 200-mt kayaking (women), Kerala University emerged the winners while Punjab University (Patiala) was placed second.

The four-day event was organised by Kashmir University under the auspices of the New Delhi-based Association of Indian Universities.

Kashmir University organised this major water based championship here after seven years. About 250 players and officials of different universities took part in the event.

The C4 (Canoe4) boats were introduced for the first time in this championship.
